Psalm 90:12
What I find interesting in this chapter is the sense of urgency Moses exhibits in this prayer- specifically the ways in which he refers to time.In verse 4, Moses compares 1,000 years to a day; in verses 5 and 6 he refers to life as a day in the sun where things flourish and at night are withered; verse 9 Moses states, "For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: We bring our years to an end as a sigh,"; verse 10 he talks about life expectancy (70-80 years of sorrow); and in verse 12 he asks God to "teach us to number our days, That we may get us a heart of wisdom." Verse 12, when I first read it seemed out of place- My thoughts were- "so these folks are living in sorrow and yet he wants the people to learn to count their days so that they get a heart of wisdom??" After reading the chapter a few times, I see that Moses was repenting and asking God to return His mercy on the people- to make His presence and lovingkindness flow throughout the nation (v.13-14). As stated in verse 7, the people were consumed in God's wrath and were desperate for God's covering. Even the secret sins of the people were at the forefront of God’s sight. I was once told, “don’t mistake God’s patience for permission,” and this passage definitely brought that quote to my remembrance.

(Proverbs 3:5-8) When we rightly understand our complete dependence upon Jesus as Savior and Hero, then, and only then, can we truly begin to walk in humility from a changed heart. Dependence enables humility because we ultimately realize that Jesus is the only possible strength for our weakness, and to force ourselves into pretending otherwise is just plain silly. WAlK IN HUMILITY THROUGH EMBRACING YOUR DEPENDENCE TODAY! (Can y'all tell I'm dissecting Proverbs 3:5-8 :-)

I love the verse this week, "And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach. Isaiah 4:1" -It is so true for believers today who think that it is okay for us to "do our own thing" while being a Christian. This verse seems so bold! To me it's saying, "Imma do me Lord, but I want your mercies and forgiveness too because I don't want to suffer the consequences that 'doing me' will bring." How can we say that to the one who gave up His life so that we can have eternal life and be free from the sin that we are clinging to? I am overwhelmed with thankfulness to God whenever I think about this verse.

I LOVE THE STORY OF JOB :) He simultaneously lost nearly everything he had, from property to his children, and was left with little more than himself and the clothes on his back. How did Job respond? He “fell on the ground and worshiped.” He worshiped God through His right heart, without sinning. Often, we don’t think of worship as anymore than singing songs at church. But let us learn to worship God always, like Job especially in the hard times. Remember, our hearts are never so honest as when we are in the midst of trying circumstances. How will the Lord find our hearts in difficult situations? ♥

This is a great tool for our daily spiritual growth in Jesus, and it allows us to build community with each other. Its encouragement to read as the last few verses said, to continue in faithfulness and love and to not grow weary as its sometimes easy to do.

Great choice Joy Bell. One must always remember to be faithfull to God. James 4:8 says "Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you." The only way to maintain faithfulness is to seek the Lord daily, while He may be found.

I just finished reading the rest of what Acts that I didn't finish yesterday 4-7 and 8-10. Wow!!! Loved it!
The top 3 things that stood out was when 1)Simon the Sorcerer wanted to buy the Holy Spirit, 2)Saul's conversion, 3)Peter's vision of spreading the Gospel to the gentiles <<< I THANK GOD for that one!
As I was reviewing the chapter 4-7 I couldn't help noticing again the boldness of the disciples! I really loved Peter and John's prayer in 4:23-30! No wonder they were able to have courage and be that bold after they were threatened, they prayed for it.

Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For GREAT is His love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord. Psalms 117:1&2... Had to take a praise break this morning and just think about the the goodness of our Heavenly Father!!! There is nothing that we cant accomplish, no doors that we cant go through, there is NOTHING that can hold us back because our God goes before us paving the way, behind us to support us in case we get tired, and walks along side us so that we don't feel alone!!!! God is amazing!!!!
