Verse Of The Week
June Week 4 Mid Week Verse
I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. 1 Corinthians 9:26-27
Paul's teachings are so insightful and encouraging. He equates our walk with God as a race or competition; and our Crown in Glory as the ultimate prize. 25 And every man who takes part in the sports has self-control in all things. Now they do it to get a crown which is of this world, but we for an eternal crown. 1 Corinthians 9 In the verse today he urges us to run with a goal in mind.(our crown of everlasting life) He declares that his fight is not that of someone who is just taking swings in the air not knowing what he is fighting or why. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: He is not just fighting the air or throwing blind punches but has set his sights on his target and with every single move that he makes he has that goal in mind. I do not say that I have already won the race or have already reached perfection. But I am pressing on, striving to lay hold of the prize for which also Christ has laid hold of me. Philippians 3:12 It seems that Paul received a revelation in verse 27 But I keep under my body that it was he himself that was his biggest enemy that could keep him from his crown. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. James 1:14 Just as a runner or fighter has to train their body under intense pressure and strain to reach their goal we also have to keep our body in constant subjection in the face of extreme difficulty to obtain our goal. Also if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules. 2 Timothy 2:5 Today I encourage you to run your race knowing without a doubt that there is a crown of everlasting life for everyone that seeks the Father through his son Jesus. As a result of doing so we will have the same testimony as Paul. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 2 Timothy 4:7

June Week 4 Verse
Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people? Jeremiah 8:22
God presented these three questions to the children of Israel through the mouth of the prophet Jeremiah. First question: "Is there no balm in Gilead?" Balm was a form of medicine used back in that time. In other words, God was asking them what has happened to your so called resources that you have placed so much confidence in? Is there no physician there? Where are all those people who said they had the answer? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people? Since you know so much, why is it that you are still sick? You are still in the same shape that you where in days, weeks, months, years ago!!! Even as children of God we still may not place God over every portion of our lives. We may think that we got this figured out and don't need to go to God with every issue. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Psalm 127:1 God wants us to understand that it's not our money, skills, or knowledge that will heal our wounds but it's by the power of his might. Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches Jeremiah 9:24 Everything that you possess, will not do you any good unless the LORD says so. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 It's with this revelation that the Apostle Paul counts everything that he acquired before he met Jesus, completely worthless compared to the knowledge of Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the Excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, Philippians 3:8 Today I encourage you to put Jesus first and acknowledge him in all that you do. Pray and seek God to order your steps in every aspect of your life. The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Psalm 37:23

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
I hear a lot of people miss quoting this scripture by not adding verse 13 to verse 11. It just sounds good but you would never receive what GOD has for you. The initial thing we learn when we are truly seeking to know God is that we first must deny ourselves. Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. Mark 8:34 When we give God our full attention, he gives us his gift of love that entices us and makes us want more. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. Psalm 42:1 We soon learn that we are not here on earth to do our own thing but GOD has a plan for us; things that he require. ”A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9) The only way to know what his plan is for us is to continually seek after his will, his word and his way. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Matthew 7:7 When we are in line with his word then we will begin to receive the abundant blessing GOD has for us. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. Psalm 112:3 Today I encourage you to get in line with GOD's will. How? We have to study his word not just read it and pray and fast. "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”James 1-5

O our God, will you not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that comes against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon you. 2 Chronicles 20:12
Do you really trust in the LORD? Are you really looking for him to bring you out? Today’s verse is an excerpt from the prayer of King Jehoshaphat. In his prayer Jehoshaphat (a righteous man) understood the promises of GOD and recognized that his situation was much more than he could handle. for we have no might against this great company that comes against us; neither know we what to do: There will come a time in life when things will happen out of our control and leave you feeling helpless. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:13 It's times like these when we as Christians must take our eyes off the problem and raise our expectations as we look to the LORD. And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children 2 Chronicles 20:13 The Kings relationship with GOD allowed him to understand the great things that GOD has done in the past and move in faith looking to his GOD. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. Psalm 121:1 Our level of trust in the LORD is highly dependent upon our relationship and experiences with him. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Psalm 37:25 Today I want to encourage you to keep looking to the LORD. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

June Week 2
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 1 Corinthians15:10
I favor a lot of scriptures but this one has to be the most motivating scriptures that I refer too for my own life!!! First of all, Paul acknowledges that it is by the grace of God that he is in the position that he holds. But by the grace of God I am what I am Some people take their gifts and callings for granted without much respect at all for them. But Jacob said, "Swear to me first." So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob. So Esau despised his birthright. Genesis 25:33-34 Esau's lack of respect for his birthright ended in him selling it to his brother for a bowl of soup. Afterward, he ended up despising the gift he so foolishly disvalued. Take therefore the talent from him, and give [it] unto him which hath ten talents. Matthew 25:28 God will bless those who work diligently to perfect their gifts and calling. For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. Matthew 25:29 Paul recognizes that it was not just the grace of God that made him whom he had become. No, I worked harder than all of them It was his work ethic that moved him to be such a great witness for God. Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. 2 Tim 1-6 Today I encourage you, just as Paul encouraged Timothy, to remember to stir up the gift that God has place in you that you may be all that God has called you to be. Neglect not the gift that is in thee 1 Timothy 4:14 Not only stir it up but put your whole heart into it; seeking to please God with every deed in your life. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, Colossians 3:23

June Week 1 Mid Week Verse
Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12
I wonder if any of you are waiting on a promise from God. Has he spoken things to you that seem like it is just impossible to happen? Has the enemy told you that your time will never come, that too much time has passed and that you have missed your chance? How many of you are heartsick about something? It could be a depressing place to be in but God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Numbers 23-19 Many reasons go into why we have not received our promise from God. Maybe its because we keep stumbling over the same thing over and over again, or we have not yet learned to trust him the way we should. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. James 1:3 Maybe we have not yet humbled ourselves to a point that when we do receive the promise we can handle it. Maybe we have not fully developed the gift that God has given us. Many many different things cause us to hold up God’s promise to us. But sometimes it is none of that; sometimes God wants to show us just how powerful he really is. Sometimes its for the Glory of God: And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. John 11:42 Sometimes it's an Abraham and Sarah or Joseph or even a Mary Martha and Lazarus experience where you could not do it yourself and the only thing that can be said is that This is the LORD's doing; and it is marvellous in our eyes. Psalm 118:23 I encourage you to hold on to the promises of God; always reading your bible to make sure that you are not holding up your own blessing.

June Week 1
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; Philippians 3:10
How is your relationship with God? How well do you know him? How often do you talk with him and how much time do you spend with him? What are you willing to go through to get where God wants you to be? Do you really know him or have you just heard about him through your pastor, family members, or friends. The words in the above scripture are that of Paul’s (who wrote over half the New Testament) and he is expressing the kind of relationship that he desires to have with Jesus Christ. Paul wanted to experience all that Jesus had to offer, to know his Savior in the most intimate way, even to die for Christ because he died for him. 1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived and bare Cain Genesis 4 When the bible uses the word “know” it means being intimate; having a close relationship with someone. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? Luke 1:34 Therefore, we can conclude that it is not enough to know about Jesus or just say it with our mouth that we believe but we have to Know him for ourselves. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. Psalm 1:6 That’s why it is so important to pray to God constantly, read his word, and have the things of God in your mind. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: Isaiah 26:3 My brothers and sisters there is going to come a time where if you don’t get to know him you are going to really wish you would have! Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' Matthew 7:23 Today, I encourage those of you who do not know him get to know Jesus and those of you who know him to draw closer to him. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded James 4:8
