I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. Song of Solomon 2:1
This scripture is very familiar to us because of the song “The Lily in the Valley”; but I never really understood the true meaning of this scripture till a few months ago. This verse was written by King Solomon, son of David, whom was of the same line that our savior Jesus was born. The bible states that King Solomon had more wisdom than any other man ever to live on this earth. Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.1 Kings 3:12 So with the understanding that the wisest man ever to live wrote this verse I looked up the only word that I was not on familiar terms with to get a deeper understanding of the verse. Sharon the definite meaning "the plain" location a fairly level land which runs between the mountains and the shore of the Mediterranean sea. God is speaking here and he is telling us that he is that same God that you prayed and gave thanks to when everything was going your way and running smooth. 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever. Hebrews13 Then he promises that when you are down in the valley and your life is falling a part and it seems like you are all alone and can’t seem to feel or hear from God that he is there with you. Therefore, before you come out your valley you will find something beautiful (a Lily) in the mist of all your troubles to focus on. Today, I encourage you when you are going though a valley experience that you do not give up but continue to seek God though it all. He promises that he will be found. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Matthew 7:7
He who has ears, let him hear. Matthew 11:15 Be blessed and have a great day!!!!!!!!

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors matt 6-12.
This is a very familiar verse which comes out of the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples. (Lords Prayer) If you break down the whole prayer you find many wonderful things on how we are to communicate to our Father. This particular scripture, however, deals with a covenant (an agreement between God and his people) that states that we will attain forgiveness of our sins if in fact we ourselves forgive those who has unfairly wrong us. This is not just a covenant but also a commandment from Jesus, 37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven Luke 6: This also is a part of transforming our minds from a worldly point of view. Jesus is teaching us that in order to be apart of the body of Christ we must represent God’s characteristics in every part of our life. He is showing us how not to live a bitter life to let go of some of that baggage that accumulated in your life so that your heart will not harden over the years. Yes I know its not easy to forgive people that has caused you pain in your past but its the only way that you will get past it and be able to move on with your life. Personally for me its starts off as an hour to hour payer that leads to a day to day payer till the bitterness of what they did has past. God wants us to live free of the bondage in our mind and take control of our life. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10-10 I encourage you today let go of the past, forgive them for whatever has happened and move forward with God. Knowing this, we ourselves are forgiven of our sins when we forgive others.

Aug Week 4 Mid Week Verse
As soon as I heard these words I sat down and wept and mourned for days, and I continued fasting and praying before the God of heaven. (Nehemiah 1:4 ESV)
Part 2 Preparation (fasting and praying)
Before you come into your destiny and the purpose that God has called you and set you a part to do, there is a time of preparation. It seems as if Nehemiah understood this time. He did not rush to take action. Even though he may have wanted to do something about the wall of Jerusalem being torn down as soon as he heard the news, he didn’t move. He was getting ready to embark upon one of the very things God formed him to do. Something this big calls for a time of preparation. The bible says that he continued fasting and praying before the God of heaven. In order for us to overcome some of the obstacles that are sure to come we have to be ready. Nehemiah had to take time to devote to God and have a renewed mind. There is a power and strength that comes through our fasting and praying. When the disciples asked Jesus why they couldn’t drive out a spirit from a boy, he replied; This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. Mark 9:29. The same is true with us; we must feed our spiritual bodies in order to have power and be ready for the calling that the Lord has placed on our lives. A renewed mind will also help us to discern what God’s will is and what He wants us to do about our situation. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will Romans 12:2. We know from the five foolish virgins that a lack of preparation may call us to get left behind; 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’ 9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ 10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. 11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’ 12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ Matthew 25:8-12. If we do not spend time in prayer, fasting and studying the word (PREPARATION) it will be easier for us to fall into temptation. Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. Mark 14:38. So I encourage you to prepare! Seek God, fast, pray and study the Word. Allow God to renew your mind and experience the victory and fulfillment that comes with walking in your divine purpose and destiny. Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ. 2 Corinthians 2:14.

As soon as I heard these words I sat down and wept and mourned for days, and I continued fasting and praying before the God of heaven. (Nehemiah 1:4 ESV)
Part 1 Patience
These are the Words of Nehemiah after he heard that the people of Jerusalem, his people, were in great trouble because the wall of Jerusalem had been broken down. This meant no protection and great shame for the remaining Jews who lived there. Nehemiah had a heart for his people. He felt so sad that they were left unprotected that he wept. I believe what Nehemiah did next is key, though he was down and distressed the bible says that he wept and mourned for days and continued fasting and praying. Today's society will have you thinking that everything should happen in a microwave oven time. When we want something we want it NOW or even yesterday. This is especially true when we are going through a trial, test or hard times. We want our prayers for deliverance answered yesterday. We have no time for patience. However, James teaches us that: Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. (James 1:3, 4 KJV). In Nehemiah's case, and like in most of ours, there was no immediate relief to his situation. Some studies conclude that Nehemiah wept, fasted and prayed for months before he was granted favor by the Lord to go and rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. I believe the same is true for some of you reading this verse. Because of your circumstance you have cried, you have prayed, you have fasted, and when you finished that you started the cycle all over again. The cycle of crying, praying and fasting. But, I would like to encourage you to be patient in the process and to not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9. Notice that the reaping (blessing) comes if you don’t faint or give up. Though it hurts, don’t give up. Remember that Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy Psalm 126:5. Even though it get’s hard continue fasting, continue praying, continue seeking God. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33. And at the proper time you will reap your harvest Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for--both riches and honor--so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings. 1 Kings 3:13

Aug Week 3 Mid Week Verse
Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly. Philippians 1:14
When I first read this verse that Paul wrote, my reaction was “Wow! What an amazing attitude to have.” Paul, although in chains and shackled down, didn’t have a defeated attitude, nor was he sorrowful, nor was he upset and angry, nor was he down and depressed. Instead, he rejoiced! I will continue to rejoice. Philippians 1:18. I know what you’re thinking, “How can I rejoice in my situation? How can I rejoice when I can’t see a way out? How can I rejoice when life seems to be so hard or so unfair? How can I rejoice when I don’t deserve to be in this situation?” You can rejoice because just as an obedient child celebrates when he pleases his father, so you celebrate in pleasing the heavenly Father. Paul’s chains had a greater purpose than just keeping him bound, as a matter of fact, the very thing that served to keep him bound, his natural chains, released so many people from fear and other spiritual chains. Most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly. Philippians 1:14 Perhaps what you are going through has a greater purpose. The trials and tribulations that you face are not all about you, but to be of help, encourage and strengthen others. We must look beyond our situations and see how God can get glory through our testimony. What has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. Philippians 1:12. Keep the faith that deliverance from what you are going through WILL come and God HAS promised never to leave nor forsake us. Never will I leave you; Never will I forsake you. Hebrews 13:5 Therefore you might as well rejoice now, so that others can overcome their situation based on your testimony. They overcame him by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony. Revelation 12:11

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. Matthew 7:25
When I read this verse all I heard was the words to the Marvin Sapp song Here I Am (I'm Still Standing) and I know that Jesus Christ is my Rock! In life there will be storms but Jesus has promised that if we take heed to his word, we will be wise and will not fall. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: Matthew 7:24 It is our experience with GOD, as he walks us through each step of our dark times, that will increase our knowledge of who He is and force out fear. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 Notice that the writer say Yea, though I walk; it's by each step we take with GOD that we grow stronger in him." For it is GOD who has the anointing and it's the anointing that will destroy the yoke" and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. Isaiah 10:27 So this is our testimony of how we make it over; through our faith in Christ Jesus, GOD has anointed us with his Holy Spirit to handle any situation that comes up against us. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; 2 Timothy 1:8 By this we know that power of GOD is released in our afflictions. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding [and] eternal weight of glory; 2 Corinthians 4:17 Today I want to encourage to remain strong in the LORD, no matter what storm comes, because GOD will be with you every step of the way.

Now thanks [be] unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. 2 Corinthians 2:14
I am grateful to GOD for his mercies and the grace that he has shown me thus far. Like Paul I want to thank GOD for his son JESUS CHRIST, in whom we have the victory. which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, I love the fact that this verse tells us that we always win. I know sometimes it does not seem like you are winning but that's where the causeth us comes into play. Sometimes it looks like we are walking right into the enemies hands and everything is against us. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me Psalm 23:4. Just as GOD did for David he will do for us and cause us or Will us to victory. Each valley we walk through gives us more confidence that the GOD we serve is able to do anything but fail. With this confidence it makes this verse 2 Corinthians 2:14 more personal to us. Paul goes on to say that GOD does this to reveal his power throughout the entire world. maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. We are GOD's chosen vessels, anointed with the Spirit of JESUS to overcome in every way and to proclaim to the world that it was that Spirit of Jesus on the inside of us that caused us to triumph. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 2 Corinthians 4:7 Today, I want to encourage you to always be thankful and give GOD the glory that is due him. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

So teach [us] to number our days, that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom Psalm 90:12
The biggest fear that I have is that I will not become all that GOD has planned and purposed for my life. I understand that I will be what HE said I will be. Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, [and] I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations Jeremiah 1:5 GOD called me to be a Preacher and teacher to his people; and I am just that. And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. Jeremiah 3:15 However, am I doing it on the level that he intended? Am I maximizing my gifts? Are there any talents within me that I have yet to discover? Is GOD pleased with my work-ethic, will I become that man he envisioned when he was forming me in the womb? your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:16 The verse of the day is talking about using our time here on earth wisely; making the most of our days and completing the task that GOD has given us. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. John 17:4 Today my prayer for you is the prayer I pray for myself; that we will be driven to achieve our maximal potential and become all that GOD has gifted each one of us before we were born. But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me, even from my mother's womb, and called me through his grace, Galatians 1:15

Verse Of The Week
Aug Verse Of The Week 1
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1
This is another implore from Paul to change the way we think and to reach for heavenly things. When one is baptized (water burial) it symbolizes the death of your old ways and the birth of a new you. (hence the term Born Again) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new 2 Corinthians 5:17. Changing the way your think is not an easy process; for the most part it is a very agonizing development because it goes against most of our natural responses. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. Galatians 5:17 Thanks be to God we don’t have to do it on our own for he has sent his Holy Spirit to give us power, to lead, and to guide us. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. John 14:26 Consequently we can conclude that without help of the Holy Spirit it is impossible to change the way we think. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:5 Today I pray for those of you who don’t have the Holy Spirit that your heart shall change and commence to seek the things of God. On behalf of the one’s that have the Spirit, I pray that you will allow the Spirit to continue to guide you. Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us. 1 John 3:24
