Feb Week 5
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. Jeremiah 15-16
It is such an honor to be called a child of GOD! But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 In the above verse Jeremiah, the prophet, could not have expounded on it more eloquent then it is illustrated. This is such a beautiful verse and for some reason I can’t remember reading or hearing it in my life time. Consequently I was constrained to do a piece on it. Initially he declares with him seeking GOD's will, by searching and studying the Holy Scriptures for a greater understanding, that his words became food to him and he did consume them and they became part of his Spirit. The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. John 6:63 Its here in the Spirit of GOD which is the word of GOD that Jeremiah came to this incredible revelation that he was indeed a child of GOD called by his name. 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Matt 16 Jesus tells Peter that he was blessed to know that Jesus indeed was the son of GOD, because only a revelation from GOD could have revealed that to him. As a child of God you have privileges and power that others don’t have; this is why GOD wants us to get in his word and gain knowledge of how God wants to utilize that power in you. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.Today I encourage you to take pride in being called a child of God and draw nearer to Jesus that he may trust you with the Keys to the Kingdom.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand. Psalm 37 23-24
These are the words of David whom God himself said was a man after his own heart. The wisdom of David is poured out in the Psalm’s. David did some great and wonderful things in his life time but even he fell out of the grace of God on a number of times. The things that he did was not why he was called a man after God's own heart. However, God loved him so much because of the way he repented. Some of us think that just saying "Lord forgive me" is repenting; not so at all. Repenting is a Godly sorrow and a change of heart that leads to a change in mind. Real repentance is when you will do anything to make it right with you and God. David laid on the ground before God for 7 days fasting and praying for forgiveness; asking God to make him over again. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51 -10 That’s just one verse but the whole Psalm 51 is his prayer of his repentance. God loves us so much but when we act like this is a one sided relationship and he will be there no matter what we do then we remove ourselves from his presence. The arrogant cannot stand in your presence; you hate all who do wrong. Psalm5-5 God considers our relationship with him a marriage that’s why he calls sin adultery. These are very very strong words because adultery in Gods eyes is the only ground for divorce And I tell you this, whoever divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery—unless his wife has been unfaithful. Matthew 19- 9 God has never been unfaithful to us and is ready to forgive you for anything that you have done if we would only repent. He will welcome you back with open arms; there will be a price to pay just like David but its better to be in the will of God then out of it. Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice1 Samuel 15:22 David's actions were recorded in the bible so that we could learn from them; understand this, if it takes that kind of sorrow to have a change of heart that leads to a change of mind. This is how we break those bad habits and turn from our evil ways.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6: 10
This is a very recognizable bible verse. It's the second stanza of the Lord's Prayer; yes the only prayer that Jesus taught his disciples to pray. 1One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples." Luke 11 It was so important that Jesus taught it to the 12 which were with him from the beginning of his ministry, his inner circle, the leaders after he ascended into heaven, and recorded in two out of the four Gospels, subsequently there has to be some weight of great importance. This part of the prayer is a petition to the Father to allow his Will to be in us (earth) 7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2 We were formed out of the earth and God want to put his spirit in us that his will may be done through each one of us. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Ezekiel 36:27 as it is in heaven (The Spirit of God) Because God is a spirit heaven is not a geographical location that we can travel to but a spiritual place that can only be revealed by GOD. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty 2 Corinthians 3:17 Consequently with a better understanding of what you are really praying for; you should begin to see a change in the way you see your life. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; Ephesians 4:23 Today I pray just as Jesus taught is disciple to pray that God's will be done in our earthly bodies as it is in heaven. Our bodies are made of clay, yet we have the treasure of the Good News in them. This shows that the superior power of this treasure belongs to God and doesn't come from us. 2 Corinthians 4:7 GWT

For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. Zechariah 2:8
We have learned over time that life issues will pop up from time to time! Things may seem to happen at a rate that you can hardly catch your breath. When this occurs we typically become overwhelmed which leaves us feeling vulnerable and anxious. The children of Israel had seen years of bad crops, wars, death, and now they have been carried away to a strange land and held captive. They have become overwhelmed with all the issues in their life. So the LORD spoke kind and comforting words to the angel who talked with me. Zechariah 1:13 The Angel was there to deliver comforting words to a broken group of people. His message was simple; After the glory he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. Zechariah 2:8 It’s something about your praise that pulls God into your situation. The truth is God just can’t help himself; the bibles say’s he inhabitest the praises of his people Psalm 22:3. Wherever there are people praising God, he is there. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20 And when God shows up in your life things change. When God shows up the dead is raised, when God shows up there is healing for the sick, when God show up our problems take a back seat and are subject to his command. Today I want to encourage you to not let your issues get in the way of your praise. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34:1 because God shows up after the glory!!!!!!!

Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth. Proverbs 19:2
This verse deals with making good decisions by counting the cost before you leap into something. Jesus taught his disciples to examine the situation carefully before jumping and doing something that "seems like a good idea." "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? Luke 14:28 The more knowledge that you gain in certain areas the more apt you are to make a well informed decisions. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hosea 4:6 The people of God are expected to grow in knowledge and understanding. How else can you be the salt of the earth, the head and not the tail, above and not beneath? but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen2 Peter 3:18 Once we begin to grow in knowledge we must acknowledge the power and presence of God in all that we do in order to make wise decisions. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10 Because God is wisdom; to grow in wisdom is to grow in God; for this is the basis of our relationship with the Father. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Proverbs 4:7 The verse of the day goes on to say that people who make hasty decisions through their emotions or, spur of the moment reactions, commits a sin. and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth. Proverbs 19:2 Today I encourage you not to sin by making hasty decisions. We must learn to slow down and assess the situation with stable emotions and information about the issue. The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness. Proverbs 15:14

Week 2 Mid Week Verse
For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:11 (ESV)
Today I want to talk about discipline! It is imperative that we learn how to discipline our mind and bodies to the will of God. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Romans 8 You see the battle ground for control over you is set in your mind. To be carnally minded is to walk after things that feels good to you at the time; while being spiritually minded is having the things of God as your driving force. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be Romans 8 In the above verse it explains that some of the things God want us to do according to his law does not seem pleasurable. Our flesh will reject that notion and pulls in a different direction to please itself thus causing pain!!! This is why we must learn to discipline this flesh to will it to do the things lead by the Spirit of God. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8 Jesus flesh did not want to endure the pain of the cross but the Spirit of God that was on the inside moved him to do is fathers Will. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2 So then if Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith, it seems only logical that we will walk in the steps of the one who wrote our faith for there is no other way to heaven but through him. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 Today I encourage to discipline yourself to the will of God regardless of the pain it may cause for you will reap the joy and character of God in the end. A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. John 16:21

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14
In today's verse we find David praying that all his actions are pleasing to GOD. David understood that GOD not only sees the things we do but he also looks into the heart. for [the LORD seeth] not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart Samuel 16:7 and knows the deep things we think about. A person's soul is the LORD's lamp. It searches his entire innermost being. Proverbs 20:27 It's key to understand that our words are a strong indicator of the things we carry around within our spirit. But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. Matthew 15:18 Even more so condemning are the negative things we don't say but choose to think on day and night. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. Matthew 12:35 This kind of thinking harden our hearts which in return effects the way we perceive and process information. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23 Therefore when we meditate on the word of GOD it becomes our strength and peace that will guard our hearts and minds to keep evil perspectives out of our thoughts. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7 Today I want to encourage you to choose your words carefully and remember to meditate each day on the word of GOD. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. James 3:6

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 2 Corinthians 4:7
You are valuable!!!!! This bible verse is so powerful. Such a scripture should be hidden in every believer’s heart. This treasure that Paul is talking about is the Holy Spirit. But you shall receive power, after the Holy Spirit has come upon you: and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8 In this chapter Paul takes a walk down memory lane as he began to recite some of the opposition that he has come against himself and other believers. 8We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 2 Corinthians 4 We too have to go through some trials. However, Paul reminds us that none of it has taken us out and we have endured it all. What the writer is trying to get across is we have and will continue to survive because of the power of GOD that is inside of us. 16For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4 Paul said that though it may seem like you are breaking down you are really headed for a breakthrough. As your inward man grows stronger you are that much more empowered through the Spirit of GOD. Therefore the saying is true trials come to make us strong. Paul goes on to say that this power is activated through our faith and what we speak (confess) from our mouth. 13We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; 2 Corinthians 4 Today I want to encourage you to know that you are valuable because you carry around within you every day a treasure which is the Spirit and power of the most high GOD. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21 So speak to those things that are blocking you with authority as though you know that you are special, valuable, and a child of GOD. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. Psalm 82:6

Psalm 82:6
