Verse Of The Week
Jan Week 5
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. Jeremiah 15-16
It is such an honor to be called a child of GOD! But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 In the above verse Jeremiah, the prophet, could not have expounded on it more eloquent then what is illustrated. This is such a beautiful verse and for some reason I can’t remember reading or hearing it in my life time. Consequently, I was constrained to do a verse on it. Initially, he declares that God's words became food to him and he did consume them and they became part of his Spirit. The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. John 6:63 Its here in the Spirit of GOD, which is the word of GOD, that Jeremiah came to this incredible revelation that he was indeed a child of GOD called by his name. 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Matt 16 As a child of God you have privileges and power that other's don’t have. This is why GOD wants us to get in his word and gain knowledge of how God wants to utilize that power in us. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Today I encourage you to take pride in being called a child of God and draw nearer to Jesus that he may trust you with the Keys to the Kingdom.

Verse Of The Week
Jan Week 4 Mid Week Verse
And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
1 Peter 5:10 (ESV)
Going though the fire? God is purifying you! Still in the midst of a storm? God is washing you white as snow! Feeling stretched to the limit? God is enlarging your territory! Having a hard time making sense of your situation? God is increasing your Faith! Feel broken? God is making you over! I don’t know if I have ever heard of a more encouraging verse to help you when you are going through something! I just can’t express to you just how true this verse is and how faithful my God is in keeping his word! Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. 1 Peter 4:12 The pain of whatever you are going through is only there to mold you, teach you, to correct you, to direct you, to humble you, and reveal to you! When you are broken is when the Father can really do his best work; only when your will is broken can He place his will in you. Yes God is breaking your, your will for his will. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 2 Corinthians 4:17 If you can stand the test and press through the storm then , the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you Today I encourage to add this verse to memory and the next time you are going through something speak these words And after you I have suffered a little while,,,

Jan Week 4
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1
Today's verse is a very familiar one but it's one that is very much relevant in my life right now. I want to talk about just one section of this verse: let us lay aside every weight I know that we talk about sin enough so I don't have to address it today. There are some things that do hinder us as believers other than what we call sin. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 There are things in our life that I like to call time wasters; Paul calls them weights. Time wasters could be anything like family, friends, co-workers, relationships, habits, tv, or other leisure activity. Fixations that are not profitable to you spiritually or personally. Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:37 This is where sacrifice and fasting come into play. Elements that are pleasurable at the time but keep you from doing the Father's will are distractions. They must be sacrificed if you are looking to go to a higher place in GOD. If you are anything like me then you must feel like you have already wasted enough time. There are gifts that God has deposited inside of you and if you are ever going to maximize your endowment and reach your full potential; sacrifices must be made! But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me--and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace. 1 Corinthians 15:10Paul wrote over 2/3 of the New Testament and he acknowledge that it was the grace of God working though him but it was his great efforts that brought forth his great results. Today I encourage you to lay aside every weight that is keeping you from reaching your full potential. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me. Colossians 1:29

Week 3 Mid Week Verse
And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. Habakkuk 2:2
It's time to stop dreaming and fantasizing about things you wish you could do! It's time to stop wishing things were different in your life! It's time to stop talking about your vision and begin to run into the direction to make it happen! The bible has a number of events where GOD communicated with his people in a vision or a dream. Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Proverbs 29:18 GOD is not the only one that speaks to us. There are others influences out there that try to lead you astray but you will always know GOD's vision because it will never go against his law. (bible) But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 In the above verse GOD commands Habakkuk to write down the vision that he has given him. In other words don't let this moment pass you by. I have inspired you to do a work for me; there is no time for second guessing but put your hands to work and follow after this thing. But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. Job 32:8 Though others might not understand your vision; it's not for them to understand. This vision was given to you and GOD himself is the driving force behind you. Take Noah for example, he never seen a Ark let alone build one. 14 So make yourself an ark of cypress [c] wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. 15 This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. Genesis 6 GOD is going to handle the details you just have to be willing to step out on faith. Noah did everything just as God commanded him. Genesis 6: 22 Today I encourage you to be just like Habakkuk and Noah; do everything God has commanded you to do. Put your vision into action and allow the inspiration of GOD to drive you towards your goal. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

Week 3
In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters. Daniel 7-1
In honor of the great Dr. King and his dream, I would like to do a verse on dreams today. I wonder how many of you begin to have different visions about yourselves as God continue to transform your mind? While, Daniel was sleep in bed God showed him things to come in the future. We sometimes get caught up on things in our day to day life and God has to slow us down to get us to listen to him. Dreams are commonly used by God to get his message to us because he wants the vision to remain in our mind. For as he thinketh in his heart so is he: Proverbs 23:7 God wants you to see the things that he wants to accomplish though you. I know the things that I had planned for my life but the vision that God begin to place in my mind was not even close to being the same. There were many nights that I laid in the bed and heard the call from God that I created you for something greater. The thing that he was showing me and my talents that I thought I possess did not seem to match up. Many times we may feel as if we don’t have the tools to do what God has called us to do but the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were. Romans 4:17 He does that to show you that it’s not you that’s going to take you there but God’swill and mighty hand. Daniel did not stay in the bed and continue to dream but he got up and begin to write out the entire vision. We also need to put to action everything that God has called us to do in order to see the vision or dream come true. And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: Acts 2:17 Today,I encourage you to take hold of your vision even if you don’t feel like you have the skills or time to complete your dream. Have faith like Dr. King, that God will perform everything he has spoken. Dr. King did not get to see the first Black President but he sure envisioned that day. Isaiah 55:11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

Week 2 Mid Week Verse
And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. Mark 9:29
These are the words of Jesus Christ our savior. They come as a reply to a question he was asked by his disciples when Jesus came and cast out a demon that they could not. After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" Mark 9:28 Jesus had given them power to cast out demons and heal the sick but they were not able to help this young boy. And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils: Mark 3:14-15 The disciples could not understand why they could not help the child since Jesus had given them the power. Jesus told them that it's going to take a deeper relationship with GOD to defeat some demons. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Mark 16:17-18 Like the disciples Jesus has given us the same power to work miracles in his name but we have to be willing to yield our mind, body, and spirit to GOD. Fasting and praying brakes down your flesh because it forces it to come under submission to the will of your Spirit to not eat when it really wants to, and prayer forces our mind and spirit to be in communication with GOD instead of thinking on our desires. At the same time the flesh grows weaker, the Spirit man grows stronger because you are feeding it the things of GOD and that's how the power is released. Today I want to encourage you to be a willing vessel by releasing all the power that GOD has placed inside of your flesh which is made of earth by fasting and praying. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 2 Corinthians 4:7

But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up Daniel 3:18.
These are the words of the three Hebrew boys after they were threatened by the King to be put to death if they did not bow and worship the golden image he made. These young men had placed their faith in God and refused to be moved regardless of what happened to them. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? Psalm 118:6 Yes, there are times in life that we will have to compromise but when it comes to our faith, which are the things of God and the promises that God has made to you, "You Don't Have To Bow"!!! Never settle for anything less than what God has promised. The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand: Isaiah 14:24 What God has for you it is for you. You don't have to give into peer pressure because others don't see what you see, or know what has been promised, and/or things God has commanded or required of you. I am sure that it sound quite silly to the children of Israel to march around a city 1 time for 6 days and 7 time on the 7th day but that is what God told them to do. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams' horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. Joshua 6:4 Then suddenly when the power of God showed up and the walls came down their enemies where not able to stand. As soon as they did their part God stepped in and made good on his promise. Today I encourage you regardless of how it may look to you or seem to appear to others, don't quit, don't compromise, don't change, don't look back, don't bend, and Never Bow to anything but our GOD. For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him 2 Chronicles 16:9

Jan Week 1 Mid Week Verse
And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. (Deuteronomy 8:2 ESV)
In the verse today Moses is talking to the children of Israel after their forty years spent in the wilderness. There are three things from this verse that can be applied to when we go through trials. Number 1 is to remember. "Your clothing did not wear out on you and your foot did not swell these forty years. (Deuteronomy 8:4 ESV)." It is important to remember that God takes care of us even when we are going through the wilderness of our own lives. "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." (Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV)." It doesn't matter what we are going through, we can take comfort in remembering that God is a protector and a provider. Number 2; We go through tests and trials to humble us. "He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. (Deuteronomy 8:3 NIV)." If there were never a time when we had to completely depend on God, we may be tempted to trust in our own righteousness. However Peter teaches us that God's favor is given to the humble, "All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because"God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble." (1 Peter 5:5 NIV)." Therefore, your trial could be setting you up to receive the favor of God! Number 3; Your trial may serve as a test of what is in your heart (obedience or disobedience). "Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him. For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills; (Deuteronomy 8:6, 7 NIV)." God has some things in store for your life that will lead to your success and blessings, however, the place where God is taking you requires you to walk the road of obedience. "God desires our heart to produce the evidence of obedience" (ESV Study Bible). If you are going through a test or trial right now, be encouraged because your END will be far greater! "He fed you in the wilderness with manna that your fathers did not know, that he might humble you and test you, to do you good in the end. (Deuteronomy 8:16 ESV)"
"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (James 1:2-4 ESV)"

Verse Of The Week
Jan Week 1
You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. (Revelation 2:3, 4 NIV)
In the verse today John is writing to the church of Ephesus about the vision that was given to him concerning the church. Based on doctrinal issues this church was spotless. They worked hard, persevered, didn't tolerate wickedness, and even endured hardships for the Lords name. "I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. (Revelation 2:2, 3 NIV)." This sounds a lot like some of us. We may work hard for the kingdom, yet still miss it. We do everything the way we are supposed to and live a decent life. Even when trials come we find the strength to keep going, BUT while on the road to doing everything "right" sometimes we abandon our first love. "You have forsaken the love you had at first. (Revelation 2:3, 4 NIV)." We sometimes lose the zeal and passion to please God that consumed us when we were first saved. We get so busy doing the work and living life from day to day that we forget the One whom we are working and living for. We lose the thirst that David speaks of in Psalm 42 "As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God." As we approach the New Year, I pray that you do not abandon your first love. Let us take our Savior into 2012 with us and worship him with a renewed passion, loving him with everything within us "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. (Deuteronomy 6:5 ESV)." Let us forget everything that is behind us and push forward toward our first love! "Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13, 14 ESV)"
